Dubrovnik had been on my bucketlist of travel destinations for a long long time. And actually, because of the renewed interest in the city surrounding Game of Thrones (and using Dubrovnik as one of the filming locations), I seriously considered waiting a few years before visiting it again – for the overhyped touristy types to forget about the city or move on to the next.
Earlier in 2019, however, I had decided to work a week remotely somewhere in the world and I had settled on Dubai. Moving into the summer, however, I felt I needed some more Vitamin-Sea and Vitimin-C before moving into the next part of the year. Plenty of good excuses to finally visit Dubrovnik; so here are the best tips for Dubrovnik – according to me.My favorites in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik:

Regardless of whether you are visiting Dubrovnik for the first time or the hundredth, the sense of awe never fails to descend when you set eyes on the beauty of the old town. Indeed it’s hard to imagine anyone becoming jaded by the city’s limestone streets, baroque buildings and the endless shimmer of the Adriatic, or failing to be inspired by a walk along the ancient city walls that protected the capital of a sophisticated republic for centuries.

My best omakase experience in Dubrovnik

The Japanese habit of omakase (お任せ) when you’re ordering at a restaurant pretty much means, “I’ll leave it up to you”, inviting the chef to be innovative and surprising in the selection of dishes. I try to do it in every city I visit, and apply the idea behind to everything between how I pick my runs, how I pick my food, how I plan activities with my kids, how I explore cities and how I travel in general.
